Liesl Had Quintuplets

4/5/2023

This is something -- Liesl had quintuplet DOELINGS this morning.  Everyone is healthy and vigorous, and Liesl is doing a great job mothering them all.  The doelings' sire is Grand Design, and they are full sisters to two of our favorite young does, My Favorite Things and Raindrops On Roses, who will be 2-year-old second fresheners when they kid in the next week or so.  We will probably let go of several of these doelings.  They come with ADGA & AGS registration.  If you are interested in them, please feel free to Contact us.

Photo below is of the whole family taking a well-deserved rest shortly after the kids were born and got their tummies filled with good colostrum.

Tiddlywinks Had Triplets

Tiddlywinks had triplets in the wee hours of the morning.  Their sire is Grand Design.  There is 1 polled, blue-eyed, buckskin doeling, 1 polled, buckskin & white buckling, and 1 flashy black & white buckling.  We will most likely keep the doeling and possibly a buckling.  We've bred Tiddlywinks to Grand Design three times now and liked the results every time, so it's about time we kept some kids from it.  The other buckling will be available once we evaluate if we will be offering him as a registered buck or as a wether.  If you are interested in these kids, please feel free to Contact us.

Photo below is of the kids at about 12 hours old.  The doeling is in the front, and other 2 are the bucklings.

Budgie Had Twins

Budgie had a pretty set of doe/buck twins yesterday morning.  Their sire is Brisbane.  Both of them have wattles, and the doeling is covered in moonspots.  Brisbane is apparently throwing moonspots on his kids even though he doesn't have any obvious moonspots, because we've gotten several moonspotted kids out of does that haven't been known to throw moonspots with breedings to other bucks (Brisbane's sire has moonspots, which is probably where it's coming from -- the moonspotting gene can hide and "skip" generations).

The doeling will be retained at this time, but if you are interested in her, we can put you on a waiting list.  The buckling will be available after we evaluate if we will be offering him as a registered buck or a wether.  He's a long, handsome little guy.  If you are interested in these kids, please feel free to Contact us.

Photo below is of the kids at 1 day old.  The doeling is in the back.

Clairissa Had Twins

Clairissa Quinn had twin doelings on April 2.  Their sire is Grand Design.  Both of them are beautiful, long kids, and very personable already.  I think we are going to retain just one because we already have their full sister (Tiger Eye) from last year, but it's going to be tough choosing between the two of them.  If you are interested in the other one, please feel free to Contact us.  She will come with ADGA & AGS registration.

Photos below are of the doelings at 3 days old.  The lighter-colored one has blue eyes.  It was a challenge to get them to stop playing long enough to get their photos -- they were zooming around their pen and, as you can see from the last photo, climbing all over mom.

Edelweiss Had Triplets

Edelweiss had triplet doelings on April 2.  Another beautiful set of kids sired by Brisbane -- we're very pleased with the kids he is producing.  And these triplets are so cute!  They look like a trio of fluffy little stuffed animals.  They have the excellent broad, deep muzzles and width throughout that is typical of the Heidi line (Edelweiss is Heidi's daughter).  Two of them are cou blancs with wattles, and the third is a Swiss marked-cou blanc combo.  Edelweiss is a doting mother and gives them lots of goat kisses.

Availability of these doelings is tentative (we might retain them all).  If you are interested in one if we let her go, you may Contact us to get on the waiting list (note, however, that there are already a couple of people on the waiting list).

Photos are of the doelings at just a few hours old.

Quesadilla had quadruplets on April 2.  They are sired by Brisbane and are his first kids.  This is a beautiful litter with nice conformation and flashy colors.  There are 2 moonspotted buckskin bucklings with wattles (1 of them has blue eyes), 1 buckskin/wattled doeling, and 1 cou clair-buckskin combo doeling with blue eyes.  We will retain 1 doeling, and the other doeling will be available with ADGA and AGS registration.  The bucklings will also be available after we evaluate if we will be offering them as registered bucks or wethers.  If you are interested in these kids, please feel free to Contact us.

Photos below are of the kids at about 9 hours old.  The second photo is the two doelings.

    About

Krebs Dairy Goats is located in Western Montana's Bitterroot Valley, where we (the Krebs family) breed ADGA/AGS registered Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats.  We are ADGA Plus members and participate in official DHIR 305-Day and 1-Day Milk Testing.  Our priority is to breed Nigerians that are practical, high-production milkers with excellent conformational and dairy traits that exemplify the true miniature dairy goat.
In addition to goats, our family breeds APA-Standard-bred Bourbon Red Turkeys, Suffolk sheep, and numerous breeds of chickens, including heritage Rhode Island Reds, exhibition-quality Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, and six varieties of laying chickens.  We focus on breeding sustainable poultry and livestock that are efficient producers of eggs, milk, and meat for small homesteads.
