We are happy to announce that Krebs PD Patty Pan (3*M 3*D AR pending) made the 2024 ADGA Elite Doe list in the 95th percentile. She is our first homebred Elite doe.
Patty Pan's 2024 son Krebs CQ Teddy is available if you are looking for a good-quality herd sire. See photos of him at on the Goats for Sale page. Our buck Larkstone SP Grand Design *B (+B+S AR pending) Elite, now deceased but with many progeny residing in our herd, also made the Elite Buck list for the 4th consecutive year. We are leasing his full brother Sand Stone Ridge The Aviator *B for the 2024 breeding season. Their dam, SGCH Sugar Moon RB Mine By Design 3*M AR E+EE90 Elite, made the Elite Doe list for the 9th consecutive year.

We are taking reservations for 2024 Nigerian Dwarf kids and milking does. Kids are due to be born from March through May. Please visit our Breeding Schedule to see planned sire/dam pairings and specific due dates. Feel free to Contact Us. We are happy to answer any questions and discuss which goats would best fit your plans and goals.
We are expecting a lot of flashy kids this year, and there will be many coat colors and patterns and both brown and blue eyes to choose from. Visit our Baby Goat Photo Gallery to see photos of some our past kids. Photos of the kids for sale will be available as they are born. DOELINGS ~ Starting at $ 350 ea. Take home as bottle babies or when weaned at about 10 weeks of age. We offer a $ 50 discount per doeling if they are picked up as bottle babies before reaching 2 weeks of age. Doelings come with ADGA & AGS registration. A $ 100 deposit per doeling is required to place a reservation. You can also get on our availability notification list for doelings free of charge (reservations with deposits get first pick, however). BUCKLINGS ~ Starting at $ 350 ea. Take home as bottle babies or when weaned at about 10 weeks of age. We offer a $ 50 discount per buckling if they are picked up as bottle babies before reaching 2 weeks of age. Bucklings come with ADGA & AGS registration, and we will have all ADGA-registered bucklings born in 2024 DNA typed upon sale (buck DNA typing is now required by ADGA to register offspring from bucks born in 2024 or later -- see Here for more info). If you specially request only AGS registration for your buckling, we offer a $ 50 discount per buckling since it saves us the time and expense of DNA typing them for ADGA. A $ 100 deposit per buckling is required to place a reservation. You can also get on our availability notification list for bucklings free of charge (reservations with deposits get first pick, however). WETHERS (neutered male kids) ~ $ 100 each for bottle babies or $ 150 each weaned. Excellent choice for sweet pets, companions for another goat, or weed eaters. Take home as newborn bottle babies for the full experience of raising little goats that bond to you as "mom," or pick up when weaning age at 8-10 weeks old. Bottle babies will be ready to pick up as soon as they are born and have had colostrum. If desired, wethers may be registered with the American Goat Society for an additional registration fee of $ 25 per kid. Reserve wether kids with a $ 50 deposit per kid (balance due upon pick up). MILKING DOES ~ Starting at $ 450. If you are looking for a doe that is already producing milk, we will have a number of ADGA & AGS registered does in milk available after they kid. Excellent production lines with great potential for milking, breeding, and showing. Does can be reserved with a $ 100 deposit per doe, or you can get on our notification list free of charge (reservations with deposits get first pick, however). Does may be available with their kids at a package price. We also have bred does currently available -- see Goats for Sale. Disbudding Kids are routinely disbudded (horns removed) or polled (naturally hornless). If you want a kid with horns, please let us know in advance. We require full payment for horned kids within 5 days of birth because there isn't a large market for horned dairy goats. Note that horned dairy goats cannot be shown. All adult does come polled or disbudded. How to Reserve Goats: When goats that fit your reservation are available, you can come out to the farm and pick out your goat(s) in person, or we can email you photos to choose from, at your preference and convenience. Once you have selected the goat(s) you want, we require 1/2 payment to hold registered bucklings, doelings, or milking does that will be picked up at a later date. (The $ 100 reservation deposit is put toward the 1/2 payment.) No additional payments beyond the $ 50 reservation deposit required to hold wether kids until weaning age. Balance of all goats due upon pick up. We take checks, money orders, or PayPal (or cash if you can drop it off at the farm). Deposits/payments are nonrefundable, unless we are unable to provide the goat for some reason. Read our full sales policy Here. Things to Consider Before Getting Goats: ~ If you have not owned goats or livestock before, we recommend reading the book Storey's Guide to Raising Dairy Goats to learn about basic goat care before bring home your goats. We are also happy to answer any questions or help you along the way with advice for goat care and recommendations for the best goat feed, care products, and veterinarians that are available in our area. All bottle babies come with a bottle-baby care sheet for easy reference. ~ Remember that goats are herd animals and need a buddy of the same species for their proper development and psychological wellbeing. Therefore, we require a minimum purchase of 2 goats unless you already have goats. ~ If you do not intend to breed and milk the goats but just want some for pets, wethers (neutered males) are the most practical option, as they are less expensive than does but just as tame and sweet. (Note that you do not want intact buck goats as pets, because they urinate on themselves and have a clinging odor that isn't pleasant on a pet -- wethers do not urinate on themselves or stink.) ~ If you want a doeling for a future milk goat but don't want to spend the money on getting 2 doelings, a great way to start is with 1 doe kid and 1 wether kid for her companion. Many new goat owners like to start with kids so that they can get accustomed to raising goats before they need to start a milking routine. A well-grown Nigerian doe kid can be bred at 8-10 months old and start producing milk at 13-15 months old. Out of State Sales: Krebs Dairy Goats is located in Western Montana. If you are located in another state and would like to purchase goats from us, please Contact Us to discuss transportation options and other fees that may be associated with meeting your state's health requirements to import goats. About Nigerian Dwarf Goats: Nigerian Dwarfs are a miniature goat and the smallest of all the dairy goat breeds. Standard size for Nigerian does is 17 to 22.5 inches at the shoulder and 17 to 23.5 inches at the shoulder for bucks. This small size makes them practical homestead dairy animals since they are easy to care for, handle, and accommodate. They are also perfect for 4-H or FFA since children can handle them easily. Nigerians have the highest milk butterfat content of any other breed of dairy goats or cattle. Their milk is sweet and creamy, free of the unappealing "goaty" flavor people often associate with goat's milk. The high butterfat content also makes it ideal for making cheese, butter, and soap. A good mature Nigerian doe can produce around a half gallon of milk a day. People who are sensitive to cow's milk can often drink goat's milk because it is easier to digest. In addition to their practical production traits, Nigerian Dwarfs are friendly, cute, and intelligent and make great pets and companions. They can be trained like a dog (even house trained). They come in a huge selection of colors and patterns and are one of the few goat breeds that can have either brown or blue eyes. They also like to eat all kinds of weeds and brush and are excellent for controlling weeds, including tansy and knapweed. Why Buy From Krebs Dairy Goats? Whether you're purchasing goats for dairy, breeding, or showing, we will help walk you through the process of raising a healthy, happy, and productive goat. We're happy to help you with any questions you may have along the way. We will also direct you to the best educational resources and locally available goat feed, care products, and veterinarians. At Krebs Dairy Goats, our number one priority is to breed Nigerian Dwarf goats that are practical for the small homestead. We participate in Dairy Herd Improvement Registry (DHIR) milk testing to verify the quantity and quality of milk our does produce so that we can make educated decisions about how to perpetuate the best milking genetics in our herd. Therefore, if you're looking into purchasing milkers or breeding stock from us, you're getting goats out of quality proven production lines with the official records to back it up. We also breed for traits related to ease of hand milking, such as large teat size (large teats are vital in Nigerians, as many lines have small teats that are difficult to hand milk). Along with top milk production, we select our Nigerians for excellent dairy conformation and longevity that exemplifies a true miniature dairy goat. Our goats come out of some of the best showing and linear appraising lines in the country. Herd Health: Our herd is tested clean of the goat diseases CAE, CL, and Johne's, and our farm practices strict biosecurity to prevent disease introduction. See Herd Health for more details. Sales Info, Terms & Conditions Please Contact Us if you have any questions, or peruse our website to learn more about our farm and goats. Krebs Dairy Goats www.krebs.farm Fresh, Clean Brown Chicken Eggs, $ 4 a dozen. Our hens are fed non-GMO, non-sprayed feed and have access to free range. We also feed them organically grown grass/alfalfa hay during the winter.
These eggs are from new young laying hens and are currently averaging around medium-sized. We will increase the price to $ 6 a dozen once the eggs average large (we weigh the eggs to precisely determine size). We expect to have more eggs than we can use for at least the next couple of months and would like to find several regular customers who would like to purchase eggs through that time frame, with the option to continue purchasing eggs if we have them available longer. We will take your extra clean used egg cartons! We go through plenty of those. Thanks! (View ADGA's announcement with more info Here.)
The American Dairy Goat Association now requires that all bucks born on or after January 1, 2024, must have DNA on file before their progeny can be registered with ADGA. This necessitates that a hair sample from the buck is submitted to the lab for DNA typing. Krebs Dairy Goats takes responsibility to submit the hair sample for DNA typing for bucks born on our farm. Generally, the cost of DNA typing will be included in the price of the buck and will not be an extra cost to the purchaser unless we specify otherwise. The hair sample will be submitted only after the buck has been paid for in full in order to minimize extra expenses for us. Note that DNA typing is not required prior to the registration of the buck himself, but he must have DNA on file before his progeny can be registered. ADGA only requires individual typing of the buck, and not parent verification. However, parent verification will be automatically completed on any buck whose parent(s) already have DNA on file. ADGA does NOT require a buck born before January 1, 2024, to have DNA on file for progeny registration. The American Goat Society does NOT require bucks to have DNA on file in order to register progeny. Due to this, we offer a $ 50 discount on bucklings if the customer wants only AGS registration papers, as it reduces our expenses involved in DNA typing that buckling. However, if the buckling leaves our farm with only AGS registration, we will not necessarily be able to provide ADGA registration if it is desired at a future date. All other DNA testing besides individual typing of a buck born on or after January 1, 2024, as described above: If desired by the customer, we are happy to have any goat and/or its parents (if available for testing) DNA typed, at the customer's expense. This includes any extra DNA tests (such as Alpha s1 Casein) on bucks. Note that all monies received for customer-requested DNA typing are nonrefundable. *** Photos at the Bottom of the Post *** Contact Us UPDATE: All the kittens have been rehomed! Thanks! These kittens are accustomed to people, farm animals, other cats, and machinery. They are eating moist and dry cat food. Their mother is one of our farm mousers and is training them to hunt by bringing them rodents to eat. These kittens would be good outdoor or indoor cats. They have been living outdoors, so they are adjusted to outdoor temperatures and sights (though they will need a warm, dry place to sleep if they are to live outdoors). No shots or early spay/neuter (our vet recommends spaying or neutering kittens at around 6 months old). We will not hold or deliver these kittens or meet for pick up -- they must be picked up at our farm. No returns or "trying out your pet." Before you consider adopting one, we expect you to be prepared and willing to properly take care of a kitten and to be patient while it adjusts to the new environment of your home. Contact Us

This is something -- Liesl had quintuplet DOELINGS this morning. Everyone is healthy and vigorous, and Liesl is doing a great job mothering them all. The doelings' sire is Grand Design, and they are full sisters to two of our favorite young does, My Favorite Things and Raindrops On Roses, who will be 2-year-old second fresheners when they kid in the next week or so. We will probably let go of several of these doelings. They come with ADGA & AGS registration. If you are interested in them, please feel free to Contact us.
Photo below is of the whole family taking a well-deserved rest shortly after the kids were born and got their tummies filled with good colostrum. Tiddlywinks had triplets in the wee hours of the morning. Their sire is Grand Design. There is 1 polled, blue-eyed, buckskin doeling, 1 polled, buckskin & white buckling, and 1 flashy black & white buckling. We will most likely keep the doeling and possibly a buckling. We've bred Tiddlywinks to Grand Design three times now and liked the results every time, so it's about time we kept some kids from it. The other buckling will be available once we evaluate if we will be offering him as a registered buck or as a wether. If you are interested in these kids, please feel free to Contact us.
Photo below is of the kids at about 12 hours old. The doeling is in the front, and other 2 are the bucklings. |
